You get up at a certain time every day.

You get ready and get yourself to work by a certain time.

You work with schedules and deadlines all day. You have certain things you need to get done in a certain amount of time, or on certain days. Without these guidelines, the business would fall apart, right?

You get off work at a certain time.

From that point on – everything falls apart.

You didn’t plan dinner, or you don’t feel like cooking, or the house is a mess, or you can’t find the energy to get some exercise.

What happened?

Running your home life is just as important as running your work life.

* You and your family need healthy meals to stay healthy and be able to perform at your best everyday.

* You need a clean and relaxing environment to rejuvenate and be ready for the next round.

* You need some exercise to keep your body thin, healthy, and full of energy.

* You need recreation, and quality time outside of work to keep your head on straight and not burn out.

* You need communication and quality time with family and friends.

These outside of work activities should be given as much priority as you give your working hours. That’s what life balance is all about. But most people totally ignore the other half of life and give it little importance. With a little attention, and a little bit of planning, you can truly live your life to its fullest.

Plan fast and easy meals using lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. They require little or no cooking and make creating a variety of meals a snap. Plus you’ll stay healthy and lose a bunch of weight.

If you tend to have lots of laundry – throw a load in to wash while you’re preparing and eating dinner. Throw it in the dryer after dinner. A load a day keeps the piles away.

Clean the kitchen up every night – period – no excuses. Once you get in this habit, you’ll find that your housework has gotten easier.

Do one housecleaning task every night. Only spend 15 – 30 minutes a night.

Fold the laundry.

At this point you will have spent an hour and a half to 2 hours. You still have another 2-3 hours before bed. Isn’t that cool?

It didn’t take all that much effort, did it? Just a little planning.

I try to have all of my house cleaning and grocery shopping done during the week so weekends are for spending with my daughter or friends, or doing other things that I want to do.

It’s how I’ve designed my life. How will you design yours?
sweet 16 favors

The most precious gift or the most valuable thing we all possess is time. More valuable than all of the money in the world, time is what we all have been given equal measures of. Time is truly a gift from God. The one thing that we all have in common no matter what our station in life is the amount of time we have been given each day. The best time management strategy really starts with how we view the use of our time.

My question to you is how will you use your time. Will you spend your time or will you invest your time? When you spend your time, you merely waste your time on low value activities that don’t do anything to add value to your life our the lives of others. When you invest your time you can expect a return that will not only benefit you, but also touch the lives of others. But when you spend, it is a one time transaction that leaves a lot to be desired. What are some of those things that our time, with no return? I know some think that watching TV would be the first thing on my list. But I don’t think all TV is bad if you are watching something that will add value to your life, like a show on how to invest money or how to improve your home. However, watching a show that you have seen at least three times is definitely a waste of precious time and brain cells.

Excessive Sleep is a pet peeve of mine. I seldom get 8 hours a sleep per night. Some may think that is unhealthy. However, some folk sleep simply because they love sleeping and will sleep til the cows come home. Those are also the same people sending you the email asking can they borrow some money…Think about it. Investing your time in high value activities always pay off in big ways. Reading to learn a something new is one of my favorite ways to invest time. I believe just as important as time is the relationships that we can invest our time in. When we invest quality time in our husband, wife, children and close friends, we reap rewards that last a life time. I hope this gives you some to think about today.
About the Author:
