They are the dogs of the Queen, and many dog owners love their breed. If you have Yorkshire puppies, then one of the first things you need to do is potty train them. Potty training Yorkie puppies is not too difficult, as long as you know how to cater to these dogs and their learning process. The sooner you are able to train the puppies, the easier things will get…and the cleaner your carpet will remain.

Small Bladder Problems
The problem with Yorkie puppies is that they have small bladders, which makes it harder for them to hold their pee. This means you may have to wait until a few months – or more – before you can start training the puppy.

The Process
1. First, you want to train your puppy where to go within the house to start training them. Start with pee pads or newspaper in the house.

2. Put some of your dog’s urine on the pad or newspaper so that the puppy identifies the paper as a place to pea.

3. Yorkshire puppies only need a small area to pee because they are small, which means you can keep them in a designated potty area. This is critical in potty training Yorkie puppies.

4. Once the puppy has begun to pee in one spot, you can take your puppy outside. Take them to the same spot every time so they can keep peeing in that area.

5. Be sure to train your Yorkie puppy that pee time is not play time, otherwise they may become confused.

6. Always take your puppy out at the same time every day. This way they learn to use the bathroom at certain times and will begin to hold their bladder until its time to pee.

In addition, always be sure to reward your Yorkie puppy for peeing in the right spot and at the right time. This is critical in potty training Yorkie puppies.
winter wedding favors

All dog owners should be well aware of the reality that they are the most responsible person and the first one to put emphasis on the importance of potty training a dog. This discipline should be implemented in order to keep your home safe and clean.

There are some effective steps when potty training a dog; following these steps will free you from the hassle and annoyance of cleaning up your pet’s stool every now and then. This works especially with puppies that defecates several times especially after every feeding. Think of the burden that you will face when you don’t train them properly. You will probably be cleaning their mess all day long!

Make it a point to start potty training a dog when it is still young. Make it a habit to take him to a specific corner every time he needs to defecate. You should to do this to make him be accustomed where he needs to do his voiding every time he needs to.

Try to observe your pet and spot any sign that may show that he needs to void. Some of the suggestive actions that may indicate he or she needs to void includes repetitious sniffing the floor and obvious repetitive squatting. When you notice that it starts doing any of these signs; take him to his regular voiding spot. This is one effective initial action in potty training a dog.

When you notice that he has been used to going to the same spot when he needs to poop or pee; start familiarizing your pet with a command associated with voiding. For example, be consistent in saying “Go out and poop/pee” when you notice the indicative signs that he needs to void. He will eventually recognize this phrase and consider it as your command when he needs to void.

Try to be patient when you are potty training your dog. Expect that there will be occasions when he cannot keep up with the habit that you are trying to follow and instill. When this occurs, don’t shout or show that you are mad with him. Just keep trying until you get favorable results.

Do not forget to praise your pet every time he follows your orders especially when he was able to conform to the proper voiding spot. This is one tip that you should not forget when potty training a dog.

Following these sensible tips and guidelines you will soon find out that potty training a dog can be fun and easy too.

1)	When do I take a dog or puppy out to eliminate? When you are potty training, you must take a dog or puppy out to relieve themselves within a short period of time after feeding them, after they wake up from sleeping overnight or napping, after being confined for a long period of time. You have to be consistent, so they know what to expect. When you take them out, let them know verbally that they’re going to “Potty”. It’s critical that you praise your dog or puppy each time they eliminate in the appropriate area outside. Praise, praise, praise!

2)	How often do I take them out to eliminate? You must slowly establish a routine that will help a dog or puppy establish control of their bladders and bowels. Begin with 15 minute periods in the home, then take them outside to their potty area. Then slowly increase the time to 30, 60, 120 minutes, until you work up the routine to four hours. Strongly recommend that you don’t force any dog or puppy to stay confined inside more than four hours at a time. It’s not healthy for a dog to stay confined inside for long periods of time. Sadly, some pet owners think you can leave a dog or puppy confined inside up for 8 to 10 hours at a time without taking the dog or puppy out to eliminate. If you do, accidents will happen.

3)	How do I deal with accidents that happen inside? First of all, accidents are going to happen. If it does, you must clean up and deodorize the area of the accident. If you don’t, the dog or puppy will eliminate in the area again.

4)	How do I prevent accidents from happening?

a)	Establish a routine. Timing is everything.

b)	Don’t feed them and then leave the dog or puppy confined inside.

c)	Don’t serve them cheap dog food or feed them greasy food and not expect to have problems.

d)	If a your puppy whimpers or is unsettled, take them out to take care of business.

It’s an absolute pleasure and joy to have a dog or puppy. Take care of them lovingly.
fall wedding favors

It is important to understand, before you begin Chihuahua potty training, that you need to have a specific place in mind where your dog can go to relieve him or herself on a regular basis. Because of certain weather conditions where you live, this may be an important decision. Also, having one place and one place only that is designated for potty time is essential in making the Chihuahua training go smoothly.

And since a Chihuahua can only hold their bladder for short periods of time in the beginning stages of training, it is important that you pay special attention to when they have to go in order to avoid accidents and set backs in the Chihuahua training. With patience and understanding, potty training can happen pretty easily and without too much fuss. And it is the fact that their bladders are so small, is how we bring about the type of training the works best for these small dogs.

Just as many dog training books will suggest, using a crate for Chihuahua potty training is a great way to help make sure that it is a success. The type of crate you select is important not only for training purposes, but for safety issues as well. A crate with large holes can cause your puppy damage if they are able to get their head stuck in between the metal or plastic bars. Make sure that there are not any sharp edges on which your puppy can get cut on.

Size matters more for reasons of training versus safety issues. While you want to avoid crates that are too small, going with a crate that is too large can make for potty accidents, which you are trying to avoid. To make sure that you have the right size of crate for the training, your dog should be able to lay down without feeling cramped and should be able to turn around freely, yet they should not have enough room to wander around it. If the crate is big enough for them to potty on one side and sleep on the other, the crate is too large.

Now that you know what tool you want to use during your Chihuahua potty training, it is important that you understand how to implement it. This crate should be the place where your Chihuahua is at during the night, during periods when you are away from home, and for when you are not able to keep a close eye on him or her. They will be spending a lot of time in there in the beginning but as long as it is made comfortable, they will feel at ease.

Once it is time to let them out, pick them up or lead them out by leash to the designated potty location. Stay there with them until they relieve themselves and then follow that with a lot of praise and love. Keep food and water up out of your dog’s reach until it is time for a meal and then within ten minutes after their meal, take them to the potty area until they do their business. Again, follow with praise, as this is something that is essential to the success of Chihuahua training. And soon, you shall have a well-trained Chihuahua.
coupon codes

House training your dog is a necessity, especially if your dog is an indoor dog, like my two dogs are. Potty training your dog can be a time consuming process, but it is always well worth the effort.

Younger puppies are generally easier to potty train than older puppies and adult dogs, but regardless of age, there will be accidents and plenty of frustration. The best thing you can do is keep your dog on a schedule. Bring them outside the same times, every day. Consistency is key!

When I was potty training my labs, we found it much easier when we created a time chart to make sure we did everything to avoid the messes. This is what our “Potty Schedule” looked like.
Good Morning! Go outside. Eat breakfast! Go outside. Play! Go outside. Nap! Go outside. Eat lunch! Go outside. Nap! Go outside. Play! Go outside. Eat dinner! Go outside. Play! Go outside. Before Bedtime! Go outside.

We went potty… A LOT! Whenever the dogs did their duty where they were supposed to, I always praised them in a cheery, happy voice. I also had to remember, only feed and give water when I could bring them out right away.

You also cannot yell or get upset when he does have an accident. Just quietly clean up, completely ignoring your dog. This sends the message of you being unhappy, without saying a word. You may also want to consider crate training your puppy as well. Crate training always lends a helpful hand in house training a puppy or dog. Be assured, with consistency and time, your dog can be fully house trained!
eco-friendly favors

Potty training your dog is inevitable. Puppies are great pets but sometimes, they can be a great problem especially if they are constantly making a mess inside your house. If you think there’s no solution to your problem, them you’re quite wrong. Have you considered a crate? Puppies are easier to train than older dogs. Puppies are predisposed to hold their urine and stool while in the crate.

Crate training does just that by allowing your dog to get on a schedule and not to “fail” when you are not at home or are asleep. If you put him in a crate and get him on a schedule, even the most stubborn dog will eventually understand what you want him to do and when. Crate-trained dogs see the crate as a place of safety and relaxation, and(if the crate is the proper size for the dog), they will not eliminate in the crate. If the rug seems to be her target, then placing it in her crate will help her see it as a bed where she can rest and relax.

Praise your dog as soon as it is done going to the bathroom. Don’t hold back with the praise and excitement as your dog will pick this up and remember that each time it goes to the bathroom, it will receive praise from you. Praise him to the high heavens when he goes outside. You can also use a treat if you want. Praising a dog in a happy and uplifting tone helps affirm that the dog performed the deed correctly. If the dog hears your affectionate praise it will continue doing the deed right the next time.

Good luck potty training your dog.
petal cones

Potty training a dog is very important if you plan to keep dog or dogs within your home. Even if you let in your dog for some time, they must be trained not to make a mess.

The best time to begin training is when you first get the puppy home. It is very essential to begin right away, so as to prevent your puppy from being confused between the right and wrong approach. Puppies and adult dogs can be very obstinate so it is essential that you tell them you are in control and they should obey your commands.

After you have succeeded in potty training, you will start reaping the benefits soon. Then you can leave your dog by himself or herself and remain confident that your home will not be dirtied when you return. Of course there may be accidents at times, but it may be because you stayed away much longer than normal or your pup may be ill.

Talk to your vet or breeder or read books to know the correct methods of potty training a dog. You will also get a lot of information on the net. Some web sites offer free tips on the topic. Irrespective of the source of your information on this topic, precision and consistency at all times are two important factors that determine the success of your potty training regime.

Your dog depends on you for guidance and always needs your praise when they have done a good job. Don’t use force or physical abuse on your pet. Your pup will respond to firm instructions if you give it loving treatment later on. It is not going to be a cakewalk, and you should have plenty of patience.
party planning blog

Chihuahuas make wonderful pets. They are loving, loyal, and make great watch dogs. However, if you are thinking of getting one, you need to know how to potty-train your Chihuahua the right way.

Just like all small dog breeds, Chihuahuas oftentimes have difficulty becoming potty-trained. But don’t let this hinder your decision to own one. The benefits owning one outweigh this. Just follow these guidelines to help ensure your Chihuahua becomes potty-trained.

The best time to start potty-training your Chihuahua is when they are a puppy. But, keep in mind that puppies bladders are not fully developed until later.

Take them outside to potty often. I recommend once an hour, every hour, for a puppy. Always take your Chihuahua to the same area outside. They will recognize the area and are more likely to go potty where they have already been. Say a simple phrase, such as “go potty” when you take your Chihuahua outside. They will start to associate the command with the action. Remember to only say one specific phrase, and keep saying it while you are outside. Saying different phrases can confuse your Chihuahua. When your Chihuahua goes potty outside, give them a doggie treat, and lots of petting. As you probably know, they love treats and will do about anything for them, including going potty. Unfortunately accidents will happen. When you see your Chihuahua going potty inside the house, just speak loudly “STOP”, or “NO”, and immediately take them back outside. You should never physically hurt your Chihuahua or stick their nose in it. This can have an adverse affect and really disrupt the training process. You should put your Chihuahua in a crate at night times and when you are away from home until they are potty trained. Most dogs don’t want to sleep in their own pee, so they will hold it. When you wake up or get back home, you should take your Chihuahua outside first thing. Monitor how much water your Chihuahua is drinking. Some dogs will literally drink until the bowl is dry, and what goes in must come out. You shouldn’t give your Chihuahua any water right before you put them up in their crate.

Potty-training your Chihuahua doesn’t have to be a headache if you follow these steps. Just be patient, consistent, and success will follow!
holiday party favors

You have just introduced a new dog to the family, a cute cuddly canine that as of right now knows no difference between going on the grass and soiling your carpet, you now have to learn about potty training dogs. There are to ways to go about potty training dogs, one is paper training, the other is crate training. Both methods are equally as effective and both with their own plus’s and minus’s.

Paper training is generally considered the easier of the two methods; this involves designating a specific area within your house as an area where you train your dog to use as a washroom. This is most often an area in the kitchen or laundry room. You quite often barricade the dog in this area and praise them when they use the area covered in paper to relieve themselves. Over time you will shrink this area. Crate training is a more difficult and labour intensive method but offers the added convenience of having them relieve themselves outside. In this method your dog is never left unsupervised outside of their crate. You ensure your dog is let out before going into the crate and immediately after being let out of the crate. The crate method requires you to be home in the beginning to ensure the dog is never left to long with out breaks. The Paper method is not generally suggest for larger dogs as the messes they make are proportional to their size, even the most absorbent paper will not catch it all.

As you can see, the two methods for potty training dogs are both good methods. You must decide which method suits your family, your household and your lifestyle the best.
shopping cart software

Potty training for rats means litter training, and the sooner you begin, the better your rats will be at it, although older rats have been known to catch on quickly as well.

The key is going to come down to sounding a stimulus and giving a reward to reinforce good behavior. More on that in a minute, but first it’s important to understand a rat’s instincts.

A rat will instinctively leave solid waste in a corner of their enclosed dwelling, making it easy to transition them to using a litter tray.

Urine, however, is an entirely different story. Many rats, especially males, will pee all over the place in little droplets. It’s a way of marking their territory and even a sign of affection. They pee on the things they like — their food, each other, and you! You can always keep an old towel or rag around to wipe up any “token of love” they leave around.

The idea of potty training is, at the very least, to get your ratties to leave all their solid waste in one spot that is set apart from the rest of their dwelling. Not only does keeping everything cleaner mean much less work for you, but it also makes the place less germy, keeping your precious pet rat as healthy as possible.

Step 1. On cage clean-up day, notice where most of your rat’s solid waste was deposited. With gloves on, pick up their solid droppings and put them aside.

Step 2. Prepare a corner ferret litter tray (available at any pet store) with a plastic lining and then fill to about an inch to two inches from the bottom with some ferret or kitty litter. Add the droppings.

Step 3. After cleaning the cage completely, place the prepared litter tray inside the same corner of the cage where your rats tend to leave droppings.

Step 4. When your rat gets the idea and begins to use the litter tray, sound a stimulus (a unique sound you make like cooing “good boy!” or “good girl!”) and reward them profusely. Be sure to praise them with hugs and kisses, too.

Step 5. If you see your pet rat “missing the target” you can try to move them, or at the very least, move the dropping into the tray immediately.

Step 6. Take the time, at least once each day, to move fresh droppings into the litter tray. Eventually your quick-witted friend will notice how much cleaner and fresher the air stays when they poop in the right place.

It is also a very good idea to allow your pet rats access to a litter tray during their playtime. This would mean either keeping the entire cage accessible to them with the door open, or placing the tray in one corner of their play space.

With encouragement and rewards for good behavior, your pal will be potty-trained in no time at all.
favor boxes
