Dinner –
he wouldnt eat for daddy
I know in the past when he has been given new food to try he would never accept it from anyone but me. Also, the dinners are things he likes and enjoys eatng. I am just trying to figure out if it is daddy or what! I am at a loss. What are your opinions? Do you have a toddler that only eats for you? Any suggestions?
Or do you think he just may not be hungry and is getting too filled up during the day?
Daddy doesnt give him any snacks/junk if he doesnt eat. He knows better! lol He will still give him his drink and he is always more than happy to drink it.
Emmas mom- He is a finger feeder. ver few things we spoon feed him. Thats why I am sooooo confused.

Perfectly normal. And yes, it probably is because you’re not there. But don’t worry, he’ll adjust to the routine. My eldest did the same at that age. I thought he was starving ’cause he starting up wiht these VERY PICKY eating habits and didn’t want anything we gave him. The doctor told me not to worry about it, that they are actually getting more than we think. So long as they are drinking the milk, pooping decent and stuff, they are fine.
He eats quite well. Is it possible that he is between 2 “growing” periods and therefore less hungry?
What does daddy do when he does not eat? I ask that because my son knows that if he refuses a healthy dinner at his gran’, she will freak out and offer him cookies and ice-cream (she thinks he’d die from starvation otherwise) so now, he refuses all the time JUST to get something yummier… And because of that we are now looking for a proper babysitter for next time we go out (sigh…)
Yes, I know what you mean. My toddler will only eat for mommy also. When daddy feeds her, she refuses food. I am in your situation also.
I guess if he gets hungry enough, he will eat. That is what everyone keeps telling me! Usually I just cave in and feed her myself but your situation is a little different.
Does he eat everything himself (ie finger foods) or do you spoon food some too? Emma will not eat from a spoon for her dad. She fusses and whines the whole time. However, she will for me. If her dad puts her food on her highchair tray and leaves her alone (ie does not coax her to eat) then she does fine.
